Teleflora RTI Direct Integration

The new interface has direct access to more fields and allows us to send orders that require much less cleanup, allowing you to enter through the order without having to retype the card message or addresses. It also hits your RTI system immediately without having to be processed through the Dove system. If for some reason your server is unavailable at the time of the order the site will automatically fall back to sending the order through Dove giving us a backup pipeline for sending the order. Big thanks to Chad Freytag and Walter Knoll for being beta testers. They have both said this new process makes it so much faster and easier to process orders that they were able to move some people from processing the orders to doing other tasks during the busy holiday.

If you are interested in using the new interface, and we suggest that everyone with RTI should be interested, please get your Firewall and FTP users setup (see below for more info) and then let me know you want to get setup. You will need to send me the IP address for your server and the FTP Username and Password so that we can verify connectivity from our servers. Then we’ll let you know once we have everything setup and you have the new option of “RTI Direct FTP” for Order Export Type in your admin. The you will need to go in and change over to that once you have RTI setup the way you want.

Required Setup

In order for us to setup Direct Integration with your RTI system you will need to allow our servers access to your network and setup an FTP user on your RTI Server for us to use to upload the files. If you manage your own firewall and server then you can do this setup yourselves, if not then you will need to coordinate with Teleflora to make the necessary changes. Once you have the Firewall and FTP User setup then we can test that connectivity and will add the option RTI Direct FTP to the Order Export Type field under Store Settings. Then when you have configured RTI to import the orders you can change that setting in your admin and it will start using the new interface.

Firewall Access: You need to allow our two Class C networks 64.156.29.0/24 (IPs 64.156.29.1 through 64.156.29.255) and 207.36.190.0/24 (IPs 207.36.190.1 through 207.36.190.255) access through your firewall to your RTI Server on Port 22.

FTP User: We need an FTP User setup on your RTI Server that has read/write access to the /usr2/bbx/kiosk/work/third_party/ folder on the server.

RTI Setup: Once we are able to verify the connection is working to your server and the FTP User is able to write files to the proper location then RTI will then need to be configured to monitor the folder for the encrypted import files. This will likely require Teleflora’s assistance to setup RTI to grab those files and decrypt them with the proper key (Teleflora has the key or I can send it when needed).

Chad Freytag has offered a couple of tips on the differences between the Dove and Direct FTP interface into RTI and a couple of suggestions on setting it up. He has also offered to answer questions for anyone needing help with the RTI setup and his suggestions below.

Things To Consider: When you switch from Dove to Direct order input the order will no longer print the network copy, it will print as an order. It will follow the path that your hand input orders do and print to the same printer which could cause confusion.

Remedy: You can choose not to print the order and setup an action queue to catch the orders and work them from the screen. Another option is to setup a separate store for web orders and have Gravity Free pass through that store number. This will allow you to direct the orders to any printer you would like within your network. These are settings within RTI.

Export Changes

The Direct Interface gives us access to more fields for example Service Fee and Relay Fee so we now take advantage of those extra fields.

Relay Fee: We have added RTI Relay Amount to Wide Store Settings in your website admin. If you enter an amount in this field and the order is going to a non-local zip code (meaning it is not in your Zip Codes field under Store Settings) then it will subtract that amount from the Delivery Total and put it in the Relay Fee field on the export. If the Relay Amount is greater than the Delivery Total on the order then it will put the whatever that Delivery Total is into that Relay Fee field. If the order is to one of your local zip codes then this Relay Fee will just be set to 0 and the full Delivery Total will be passed in the Delivery Fee field in the export.

Rush Delivery: If the order has Rush Delivery on it and the order going to a non-local zip code (meaning it is not in your Zip Codes field under Store Settings) then the Rush Delivery Fee will be put in the Service Fee field in the export. If it is going to a local zip code then the Rush Delivery Fee is added to Delivery Total and passed through in that field on the export.

Product SKUs: We are now able to pass through a Product SKU in the export so that RTI can match the item ordered with the items in your RTI System. We will pass through the Item Variation SKU if there is one for the variation the user selected, otherwise we pass through the Item SKU.

Product Descriptions: We now have access to many more lines for the Product Descriptions. As a result we now break the data up rather than having to cramming it into two lines. So we send the Item Title, Item Variation Title, SKU, Item Options all on their own lines (which may wrap to multiple lines for longer Titles or lots of options). This will ensure all the information about the item will make it into the order in RTI.

Addon SKUs: We’ve added a SKU field to the Upsell Item Options so that it can pass those through and match the items you have setup in RTI for them as well.
